Looking at staying at the resort in early Nov and playing the lighted par3 and then hopefully each course. Any thoughts on how the two courses play if we only can choose one? Any other suggestions in the area if we play another 18?

If you value getting humbled on a championship course and don't mind a crazy slow round, I'd recommend the East. I got a chance to play it a few weeks ago. There are some incredibly fun and challenging shots on the East. It also was a 5.5 hour round.

If you value a fun round with plenty of room to drive it and a little easier approach shots, I'd recommend the West.

Both are fantastic courses. What Fish said is pretty accurate. FYI the par 3 requires day of tee times so if you're planning on playing on a weekend evening stop by the starter shack that morning and make a tee time. If you pick the right time and day the place is pretty dead. I played the West in 2.5 hours early one morning.

What are greens fees for each? Have to stay at Omni to plus or no?

We are staying at the Omni so you can book tee times 120 days in advance whereas if not you can only book 10 days out. East is $315 and West is $250. Caddy is not included in that and is another $40ish, not sure about carts. The swing par 3 is $30

Thanks! Do they require caddies? I'm all for caddies when warranted and while the courses seem awesome, caddies seem like a waste.

Caddies required on the East course only.

Also, keep in mind the East course is walking only in the morning. Carts are available at certain times but only later in the day, not the first few hours. Still need at minimum a forecaddie even with carts.

Ah that makes more sense…well, officially a walking only course in the DFW area makes zero sense based on climate, but walking only makes the caddies a lot more warranted.

We are staying there the week of the Arky game and have 3 rounds scheduled. Might be two depending on game time. Looking forward to it.

If you have interest in the Trick Rider steakhouse, get reservations well in advance. It's good, it's also pricey and relatively small so it can be hard to get into depending on the day.

Thanks. Also celebrating 29th anniversary. Might have to check it out.

Just spent the Arky weekend here. A few notes.

East Course: Nice course but no character. Thought the $500, which included a shared caddie with my brother, was extremely steep. One and done.

West Course: We really liked it. More character with some fun holes. Would play again. Expensive but not like the East.

Practice Areas: Great. Get your choice of Taylor Made, Callaway or Titleist balls.

Hotel: Very nice rooms. Breakfast and lunch at the restaurant were good. Ate at Trick Rider as an anniversary treat and the food was great. It is a higher end steakhouse.

Other Resort Ammenities: Loved the par 3 and food/shops around the complex. Omni and PGA did a great job making this resort something that the community can come out and enjoy. Impressed with the two acre putting green and Jumbotron.

Customer service was outstanding!
