Anyone feel like there are bots or hacks involved with booking tee times at your club?

Some quick web searching seems to indicate that it's possible but it might also be urban legend. Are there apps or do you have to know a programmer?

We definitely had that issue until a couple of years ago when they added a new system that stopped it. We have 10 guys who all jumped in at 6:59:59-1/2 and could NEVER get a 9am tee time, but the same guy was getting that time every weekend. He's a buddy and I let him know that he has become a meme joke in our group. He claimed he just had the best internet.

I thought some guys had a program to book it, but it turned out not members were treated equally, we had some Members, who were considered, legacy members and could book 3 weeks in advance so they always got the early times.

Not many knew about it.

We have a bunch of guys who spam the button for our skins game that usually works. I told them I would make a bot, but so far we haven't needed it.

The bots were such a problem for one of my old clubs here in Colorado that they had to implement a lottery system for tee times on ForeTees. Apparently an issue for all Arcis Clubs that used Foretees.

New club is currently switching from ForeTees to COBALT. I have no prior experience with COBALT so intrigued to see how it does.

are you talking about private clubs?

we have one older guy who gets the same two tee times every morning. But he's like 80 and when we went to the app he candidly told the pro he wasn't gonna be able to do that. So, they set aside the spots for him. He calls and cancels if he is not going to use them. We also have tee times on Saturdays and Sunday set aside for two large groups that have money games - but they don't go off until like 11:00.

I'm lucky as I can always get a tee time at my club even Saturday and Sunday.

I know of one private club in Houton that was having a hard time on weekends with all times taken and then members not showing up for their time or booking multiple times. They started charging them for all four carts for that tee time even if they didn't show. That stopped the double booking real fast.

Our club app has a time limit. You can't have your name on the tee sheet twice within 4 hours. That helps a lot.

I'm at a private club and it's a bit of everyone knows everyone situation so gaming the system usually doesn't end up well.

With how popular golf has gotten I feel for the guys playing public courses. Waking up at 6am to sign up for a 6.5 hour round on a Saturday sounds less than ideal.

Love the idea of making them pay for all 4 cart fees ($80) if they don't show up. I know someone at our club that books her husband, son, and another family member but they rarely show up to play. She told me "oh my husband doesn't play golf" but continues to put his name down so she can play the first tee time by herself.
