Played there but never stayed. It's a little quirky. Location wouldn't put the wives too far away from shopping,
It wouldn't be my "best option" of golf, but cost wise it's probably a lot lighter on the pocket.

I've played there recently, but not sure on staying there. Being New Braunfels, I'm sure there are a ton of AirBnB's nearby.
Haven't done it but if the wives are going vrbo in Gruene or Wimberly area.
Didn't know they had anywhere to stay unless they've built something recently.

I've played the bandit probably 100 times through High School. Love the course.
Stay in NB and play Landa too.

I wouldn't do the stay and play at the Bandit. There's nothing to do out there for the ladies (unless they're golfing). As others suggested, stay in Gruene or downtown NB, and drive to the Bandit or play Landa. Or both if you can get two rounds in.

Vaaler waaaaay better than The Bandit.
I live 20 minutes from Vaaler and you'll be 15 minutes from Johnson City and 40 minutes from Fredericksburg. Ladies will love it.

Bandit? Why did you not like it?....It's been several years since I've played it, but all the times I've been out there it has always been in good shape.
Condition usually isn't the issue out there. Pace of play has become the main issue.
8 minute staggering on tee times and switching the 9s a couple of years ago have turned it into a 5 hour round machine.

I think it's a fun course. A little gimmicky in places. I can't imagine the old 18 being #9 helps anything as far as pace goes. Things can get pretty crazy up on that green, plus it's a really reachable par 5.
Played yesterday and kept pace with groups in front of us. Full course. Teed off at 12:26 and finished at 5:40. Marshall said that's just the way it is out there. Course was in pretty good shape.
