Battery/charger issues

Didn't play for a month+ with hand issues and surgery
Cart plugged in at the country club as always
Only had a half charge when I played last week, and plugged in when finished
Only had a half charge yesterday morning………ran fine through 18 not showing much drop on the battery guage
Still sitting low this morning, played 18 and showed low
Plugged in, charger lit up, then said "nope….not gonna charge" everything came on like normal, then no charge light - red light only. Repeated with same results
Took cart to the house and all 6 batteries showed 8.07v

Sounds like a 13 year old Yamaha charger issue maybe? Friend says a hydrometer test may find a bad cell that the voltmeter might not pick up. Beats me.

Ideas?

If your voltage gets too low the charger want turn on. Get a trickle charger and charge each individual battery back to 12V.

I have a pretty good 36v charger I would let go for cheap. Upgraded to lithium and don't need it anymore. Can post up specs if interested.
Seriously, I am gonna turn it into 2 dollar bills pretty soon. Somebody make an offer.

How old are the batteries? Is there a chance they are just toast? 8.07V is pretty low. A healthy, charged battery should be 8.4-8.6V

It was the charger. New one was $480. 6 new 8 volt batteries will be coming up in a year or so.

Switch over to a lithium battery. I converted mine myself. It very easy to do as long as you pick the correct one for your cart because of the mounting bracket hardware.
