The title says it. Husband has orders to Ellington Air Station and we'll be living in League City/Friendswood area. He's looking for courses or clubs to join in that area. Bonus if they have other amenities for kids and me but not a requirement. Thanks!

None of these are in any order of preference. Although I think Bay Oaks is probably the best. Although I do love the course at Golfcrest

Bay Oaks

Bay oaks has the best amenities of the private clubs. It is also the most expensive. The facilities at South Shore and magnolia Creek are kinda lacking. I believe you get some access to the resort pool if you join South Shore, but not sure. Maybe the fitness center too. If the Fitness Center is part, that is a big score. There are lots of activities for families there.

Private Golf Clubs are expensive in the Houston area. The following are recent costs associated with the following:
Golfcrest $12,500 Stock Member. $540 Dues and $99 Cart Plan. Full Golf Member is $6250 Initiation $540 Dues and $160 Cart Plan. Full Golf Member has a waiting list and you can only play Tues-Thurs Anytime, Friday before Noon and Sat-Sun aftern3:00. These prices were from April 2024 so may have increased.

South shore Harbor:
Full Golf Member is $3k Initiation $480 Month and $125 cart plan. They have cheaper option that allow only weekday play. Course has 27 holes too.

Bay Oaks, Full Member
$10k Initiation, $800 Dues plus cart plan, don't know the cost of that but probably $150 or more. 18holes of golf but full country club amenities. Recently updated too. During the annual air show the Blue Angels fly low directly over the course which is cool.

Magnolia Creek has 27 Holes and is golf only.
inItiation is $1500 but they normally have specials if you commit to 2 years and essentially wave the fee. Monthly dues are currently $580 and cart plan is $150 for single rider but family cart plan is around $180 per month.

I was a member at Golfcrest when living in Pearland and it is top notch. Challenging golf course, pool, large club house, and they have many family events throughout the year. Highly recommend.

Wow those are all amazingly reasonable and CHEAP. Nothing like that exists nearer to Houston

I think South Shore is about to undergo a renovation so make sure ask about that if you call. course could be closed for a while.

Galveston Country Club is awesome as well but about 35 minutes away.
