I have a Bertha Mini 1.5. It has never been able to replace any of the clubs at the top of my bag, and believe me I've tried. For a player with a much higher swing speed a mini driver might be useful. Maybe. The concept is definitely sexy, though.

Who knew the 2-wood would make a comeback.

I have a 13* Ping Stretch 3-wood. G400 model so I've had it in my bag for awhile. Shallower face and smaller head, but it basically does the same thing for me as a mini-driver I suspect. It's kind of a unicorn now. Hard to find used ones. I love mine and will be really sad if something happens to the head.

I'll go hit it when they have some demos at pga or Edwin watts.

I have a very high swing speed so I'm interested to see the numbers and ball flight compared to my current driver.

Based on what I've heard/read, this really isn't a replacement driver for somebody with your specs. I heard the guy from Club Champion on PGA Radio today talking about them.

I started playing with a guy who is with no exaggeration one of the longest hitters in the world (209 ball speed on trackman). He was talking about gaming one instead of 3 wood because his driver literally overpowers so many holes.

Outside of that, I'm not sure who it's for.

I have had the TM Brnr Mini since last fall. Love it, have better dispersion with this than with the driver.

It is a souped up 3 wood.

Was hoping to see a comment on the TM Mini. I had had mine about a month and sure I guess I hit it straighter but I cant get it to go much further than my hybrid. I know it is customary to lose about 15 yards but I am losing around 40.

It's definitely not a driver replacement.

I used to absolutely drill a Callaway X2Hot 2 deep. For some reason I lost the feel for it. They are fun clubs though.

I have the TM version of it with a Fujikura ventus shaft....

Few thoughts.

1. Personally its good for me as it gives me a bit more pop in distance for the par 5s

2. I occasionally use it off the tee box

3. It's harder to shape the ball with it compared to a conventional 3 wood

If you're truly an elite golfer I don't think it offers much IMO but overall is a good versatile club.

Just got my new GT Mini Driver yesterday. Hit it good at the range. Will provide full review in the F Golf thread soon.

This is where I put in a plug for the Ping G425 Max 3W with the chrome tour shaft. It is hotter than a mofo. Adjustable down to 13 degrees

I have a g425 lst 3W you'd have to pry from my cold and dead fingers.

Bertha Mini 1.5 at 14 degrees is working great for me. My dispersion is much better than with by Epic Flash 460cc head. I'm sure the shaft being different is a factor - but I just feel confident with it on the tee and I'm pulling it instead of the full-size driver when I want to hit driver.

Admittedly, I'm playing a different type of golf right now. I've been going full send on just hitting the ball in play and giving up distance to see how it affects my scoring. It's working extremely well - as driver was costing me probably 6 shots a round in errant tee balls.

Maybe the love will be temporary - as it usually is...but I'm rolling with Mini Driver and big stick is sitting on the bench.

Played match play event at our club yesterday. For some reason decided to be an idiot and put the QI35 core model in play. 2 pull/draws that went too far left (already experienced this in other rounds) so stopped using it 4 holes in. Had the BRNR in bag for round as well, ventus 80X at 43.5in and missed all but one fairway rest of round and was longer than competitor's drivers. They do have a spot if driver or 3 wood is a problem for ya.

Swinging my current 45inch sim2 x 118 on average. (Hit 126.8) on the sim.

Really want to see what the mini would do, but I figure 112-114 on a 43.5 would be probable and plenty long

I have been interested in the mini - driver game. I hit a 3 wood off the tee 100% of the time because I can control it so much better than any driver. I have decent distance so I'm more concerned about keeping the ball in play versus hitting it further consistently.

That being said, I can't bring myself to pay the steep price to get into the mini driver game if my current 3 wood isn't holding me back.

If I'm more than a 3 wood out, I'm laying up…

Couldn't get any more than xtra 12 yards out of it, even when I pured it…

Golf mfgs are constantly looking for new angles to part you from your money…

I've had an R9 3 wood for roughly 20 years…. Can't get any more distance from Qi35…

If you want a mini driver without the price, you could look at something like a Titleist 975D in 11.5 loft. Maybe $30 on ebay. Granted it won't be as easy to hit off fairway if that's your intent. But it would be about the same as current mini drivers on the cheap. It's one of the OG drivers and I think worth giving it a shot.

If you don't subscribe to MyGolfSpy, you should. Very good articles about all kinds of golf gear, including extensive testing. Here's a relevant article.

I went and hit one,
Love the concept and actually prefer the size compared to a 460cc
But they are way too spinny
