John Daly Grip It and Rip It Long Drive Competition Friday May 2 after round at the Woodlands County Club Driving Range 5:00PM.
Hopefully JD will hit a few!!

Great way for youth golfers in the area to learn about the greats of golf and get some autographs!

I'm going to be an Honorary Observer for Daly's group tomorrow. Should be entertaining.

Didn't realize that they started early due to weather, but did they end up finishing after the rain delay?
Wanted to go to the John Daly long drive contest, but didn't know how long the weather would last.
How did John Daly look out there today?

Theyvstoppped everything around 3pm yesterday. And that was after a rain delay.

The group I followed teed off at 9:00, made it to 13 tee box and had to turn around.

Word is they picked it back up at 7:45, but the Long Drive was definitely NOT done yesterday. Maybe today?

Daly was +4 through 12.

Duffed a chip on the fringe on 1, and again on ~11. Made him look human. Like one of us.

Mike Weir was -4 and the more entertaining golfer to watch yesterday. But, two totally different games. Weir was very methodical and took longer to take a shot, whereas Daly, who was in a cart and always had one club with him, would roll up, rip a cig, flick it away, take a halfhearted practice swing, then mash one up the fairway.

It was cool following them and seeing the different golfers take different shots. Not something you get from watching TV.

Enjoyed this Sunday, walked in at the 9th green and watched a few groups come through including Monty then headed to 1,2,3 and watched a few different groups inc Weir and Jimenez along with D Clarke and Boo Weekley. They all make it look effortless
