Went to Tenison Park in Dallas today. Always pretty crowded on the weekend.

They were limiting folks to a medium bucket since it was so busy. Never seen them do that before.

How do we feel about this?

Personally I think it's a good idea. It's a municipal facility. I feel like it's good to keep things churning a little quicker on the weekend.

Well, sounds like a day to spend more time on the short game…range practice is overrated unless you are working on making a big change to the swing… in my opinion.

The range on my home course only has 9 bays. Frankly, the limit should be a small bucket during peak times. Pre-round warmup should never, ever require a medium.

I do agree that a small should be max for warm up. I think what people do sort of depends on their access to range balls. Most people (at least at my normal course) have some type of range membership to access lower prices for golf. If they get a large bucket and only hit half of them, they don't care because the range balls were part of their monthly dues.

Reasobable approach at a crowded range, especially a publicly owned one.

Hell, I wish we had an attendant who would leave a spot or two for warm ups. We have so many people practicing, you hear people asking for refunds of warmup buckets in the club house often.

We have an attendant after 5 when we go to mats/bays that you can reserve, so why not busy times.

All I know is that Keaton Park would never set a limit on your buckets...

But yeah, seems like a reasonable idea on a day like yesterday.

I love the range at my home course. Plenty of bays and no waiting. Problem is, it is constantly closed for no apparent reason. They have routine maintenance so its closed Wednsday afternoon to Thursday morning, but I swear it is closed at the most random times. I understand if we get a bunch of rain and you don't want it torn up the next day, but other than that theres not much sense to it.

Usually take that as a sign that I need to go to the chipping area, or one of the practice putting greens.
