Tickets just dropped in my app today. Have practice round tickets Monday and Tuesday and then first round tickets on Thursday.

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for places to set up shop on the course. I figured I'd walk the course Monday and Tuesday so I can see the whole course, but when the tournament starts on Thursday, stay in one relative place.

I keep reading #5 is one of the best holes in the world and the pictures are impressive although it's hard to tell how much room for spectators there is on that hole. But if anyone has any other thoughts or tips, that would be appreciated.

Go stand on the left side of 10 green. It's a sick spot and there's another green right next to it. You're right about #5 - it's a tough place to try to watch golf.

Yup, you either need to fly into Dublin or Belfast and then make your way from there. It's a trek but well worth it.

Got Sunday tix through the lottery. We have a short term rental in Belfast and will be taking the train out and back. My understanding is that they will be running pretty continuously during the Open week

Staying in Belfast...going to ride the train from there each day.

I've never been to a practice round before. I know not everyone plays all 18 but do they post anywhere who's starting when or is it just sheer luck who you come across?

On the 7:40 AM train from Belfast to Portrush tomorrow and Tuesday and then the 6:35 AM train on Thursday. Looks like wind and rain most of the week...would it be The Open though without it?
