and holy smokes possibly the most impressive irons I have ever hit. Tight dispersion and was getting close to 10 additional yards than my PXGs. Even the mi****s felt solid and never that hollow feeling you get.

Anyway if anyone has them in your bag what are your thoughts? No idea the differences between them and the 2023s. I assume they just came out?

I've never hit them, but I've always heard great things about them. I plan on getting fitted for shafts in the coming months and ordering me a set to upgrade from my current AP1's that are ten years old. I've got a buddy that gets 50% off Taylormade so thats why I am going that way lol.

Look at the p790 lofts online compared to your current lofts

I've had them in the bag about a month. Very long but they are super strong/jacked up lofts even compared to most player distance clubs in the same category. I was worried about catching some flush and them flying further than expected but so far that hasn't happened. Overall I like them and if youre looking for more distance can't go wrong with these.

They are 4-5* stronger across the set than my irons. I would need another wedge.

I got fit in February and bought the 2023's. Could have gone withe 2025's but just liked the look of the 23's better. I really like mine. They fit me at 1* flat and 1* strong. I definitely hit them further than my prior set, but can get them up in the air when I need to without a problem. I'm in a windy part of the state, and find I'm able to bore shots into the wind with these. I'm happy with my purchase.

Not a terrible problem to have

The new irons might help a ton but the reason your 7 iron is a club longer is because its really a 6 iron. Technology has allowed the 6 iron to be hit higher and likely keep a good descent angle so they stamp a 7 on it

Might want to check to see if the clubs are same length too....790s might be longer as well, helping with distance and maybe hurting accuracy

I am going to stick with my old Bridgestones until they wear out. I haven't found anything I like more.

I play the 2023s and love them. Absolute trampolines when you hit them well. Pretty forgiving too.. also they check the 'looks' box.

ETA: Since PW is 45* I do play a 50, 54, and 58.

Been playing 790s since 2018 and love them. I did have to go to a 3 wedge setup though, which made my drop out a hybrid.

I have the 2023 set and I don't think I'll ever get rid of them

Not to derail but had a conversation with one of the pros at my club and he swears up and down that the new Srxion ZXi5 is maybe even better. Anyone have with experience with these?

My son hit those when he got fitted, but went with the P790's because he hit them more consistently.

I will admit the P790 2 iron or driving iron is one of or not the best driving iron head on the market. Exceptional distance and forgiveness. Makes a difference when you are confident that you will be hitting the next shot from the short stuff! Hot face for sure.

Yes I have them very solid iron that can work the ball. I came from a players iron. I picked them over the T200, JPX 925 Forged and Callaway.

I was fitted for new irons in the last month and went from 2020 P790s to Callaway Apex Fusion Ti.

My fitter said the same thing about ZXi5, just raved about them.

I tested the new 790s, Srixon ZXi5, Cobra, Titliest 100 & 150, PXG, Mizuno JPX 925 and Callaway Apex Fusion Ti.

It came down to the ZXi5 and Callaway Fusion Apex. I was getting very similar carry and total distance with both, ultimately it came down to feel. Callaway Fusion Apex just felt better.

The technology and manufacturing process with these club companies (across the board) is phenomenal.

I got fit in to the previous generation Zx5 last year after previously playing P790s. I love the Srixon and the solid strikes feel better to me than the TM and they are a bit more workable for me as a mid-handicap. Srixon irons are absolutely top notch, they just don't spend near the money on advertising and tour pros as most other OEMs.

Got fitted last week for the 790's and picked them up yesterday. Excited to play with them soon.

Nothing to add, except go see Mac Wylie if you're in or around SATX. It's hard for me to walk into Golf Galaxy when you can get real customer service with Mac and his crew!
