Get the privilege of playing Chambers Bay when taking a trip beginning of July to Seattle. Besides enjoy it what other tips/recommendations you have?

I'm headed the first of August and I can't freaking wait.

I don't have much to contribute, I'm headed up for a Random Golf Club Classic, but interested to listen along. Playing twice on Saturday once on Sunday and once Monday before heading back to Dallas. Got a caddie for all 4 rounds.


Anyone have any Tacoma dinner recs?

Play the Home Course in Dupont too.

Unfortunately only time for golf one day. It's trip to see newborn friends kid so just sneaking this one in.

You're in for a treat. Played 36 out there a couple weeks ago and it's super fun.

My buddy and I are both decent players and all day I don't think we had a single gimme one-putt. Very tough to get it close to the hole.

Easy bogey, tough birdie.

The cape hole was probably my favorite one out there. Was an absolute blast. You'll have a great time.

Recommend having a bite to eat or a cocktail or two at the restaurant connected to the pro shop. Pro shop has some ridiculous stuff so bring some money.

Next best course in the area is gold.mountain championship course, followed by Dupont home course, trophy lake, gold mountain 2nd course then McCormick woods. Really good pro golf discount in tacoma nearby. Some really good bars and restaurants down on the waterfront in tacoma. Asados is my favorite. It gets crowded.

Matador mexican is also very good in tacoma. It's close to the McMenamins hotel tacoma. I would absolutely hit up the tiki bar at the hotel for a cocktail and the speakeasy there as well. Only had lunch there and it was legit. Cocktails over the top.

Gonna sound crazy but go to the legendary donuts in tacoma. Will be the best you ever have. If they have the bourbon habanero jelly stuff donuts, buy one. Those aren't always on the menu.

If you are going over the narrows bridge to golf, hit up netshed no.9 in gig harbor for breakfast or brunch. Doesn't get much better........my old home was just up the road from there.

I also approve of Matador.

Did you hit up the McMenamins there ?

I agree with the "get a caddie" advice. Lot's of shots where it is not obvious where you should hit it.

Overall, I think Chambers is a blast. Have played it 3 or 4 times and always try to include it when I am playing in the Seattle area.

Chambers is so dope enjoy. Weather should be good by then... I played in May and had 4 seasons in 4 hours of golf. Insanity.
