Picked up a 2024 Ai-One Jailbird Cruiser from the trade-in bucket at Edwin Watts yesterday for a song. The head is nearly perfect, but the grip has some grime that I'm having trouble getting out. Tried Dawn, alcohol, Goo Gone, Windex, grip solvent, and even a drafting eraser without much success. Any other suggestions? I like the grip and at least it's sterile now, so I won't replace it right away.

Use a degreaser, then rewash with dish soap.

Yea, a degreaser like this has worked for me in the past: Super Clean Degreaser

If that doesn't work just game it until you are ready to spend the $40-$50 to re-grip it

Dawn and solvent are pretty solid degreasers. I would think the only thing left to try if you aren't happy with the surface is to scrub it with a course pad (3M red or green) or maybe even 150 grit wet sandpaper with dawn soap water. Essentially removing the top layer of grip rather than trying to clean the surface.

I have the same issue with my LAB Press Grip, tried everything to make it look new but nothing works. I do highly recommend Geko Grip Cleaner. I keep a bottle in the bag and spray down my heavily used grips. Works great but won't restore your putter grip.

Not sure if would work on a grip, but windex and a magic eraser works great when I want to clean up shoes.

Update: Tried the suggestions above without any significant success. I got the best results in small spot testing with oven degreaser and shower cleaner, but the chemicals are so harsh I'm afraid to use them on the entire grip. Guess I'll just live with it for now. Thanks everyone!
