12.2 HCP here. Just played what could only be described as my strangest round of golf ever. Started off with a 3-putt for double on 1 and it just got worse from there... to the tune of +17 thru 8. Then, I took a shot of fireball, drank a transfusion, and went on to shoot +1 over the next 10 holes. 53/37.

I'm still in shock, as that 37 is 4 strokes better than my previous best 9-hole total. I had one swing thought as I got to the tee to 9, which was make sure my finish is low and left. Seemed to work. Now I'm just itching to play again to see which golfer comes to the course.

How about you guys? Any wild rounds like this?

I used to challenge myself to shoot 10 strokes better when I have a bad front 9.

I still do, but I used to too.

Nice finish, and makes it a heck of a lot more fun coming back.

went 48/39 at Torrey North last year. forget the 86 vs 87, i was less pissed about the 48 than i was the 39 - how sweet would it have been to go 10 better on the back...

Have definitely been there. Usually reverse though. Light up the front 9 and then get too comfortable/cocky on the back.

Yesterday was a weird round. I managed to go 42/42, but how I did it was just strange. Some holes were the best golf shots I have ever played. Then I'd go to the next tee and bomb it into the rough behind the trees and scramble for a bogey or a double. Walk up to the next tee and play it beautifully. Like riding a damn rollercoaster. The last 5 holes I left my driver in the bag (one was a par 3). Started hitting my 3 wood off the tee to avoid the errant shots and it helped tremendously. I need to get back in the lab and figure out what the hells going on with the big stick.

Was itching to play since the 37 on the back left me wanting more. 47/39 for an 86 yesterday and my handicap dropped .7

Happy with it, feels like the game is getting better.
