Headed to West Palm this week for Under Armor Junior Tour Summer Nationals at PGA National. My son won the Dallas Tour this spring to qualify. The 15-18 year olds get to play The Fazio on Thursday and Friday. Anyone had the chance to play this track? Any tips I can share with him? We wont have time to get in a practice round this year, but will be up there to practice after we land Wednesday at 2:30.

They usually have Nationals in Miramar for the kids since there's a ton to do on the resort and they have 4 courses to split them up. And its an easy drive to Destin....So this is uncharted territory for him. We knew The Raven and The Links pretty well the last few years

Nothing for the Fazio course, I've only played Champ a few years in a row 20 years or so ago.

My sense for the Fazio is it's a pretty typical Flordia golf. Keep it in play, mostly target golf… Ball striking will be a premium.

The overall facility is very, very impressive.

PGA National was pretty sweet, The Fazio was a challenging layout, conditions were amazing. The humidity was ripe! Got the first round out of the way just before the horn blew for lightning Thursday late morning. Friday we had a 1.5 hour rain delay middle of the day. Overall was a great week. He finished 11th out of 60, moved up a few positions during final round on Friday. Just missed All American Status, but have two more years to lock it in. Didnt get the chance to check out The Championship course or the Palmer Course, but the Resort property was in excellent shape. Several gators too

Took Saturday to dip in the Atlantic Ocean down south in Del Ray....never again. 30A has us spoiled.
