Cheapest in TEXAS?

LOL

Santa Fe Park in downtown San Angelo is cheaper, but only 9 holes.

Have always liked the Duck Creek layout. It was more difficult and interesting before the previous owners took out 50+ bunkers, most being fairly strategic. Still a fun track...especially for the price. I'll still hop over there from time to time for a cheap (they used to even have a round that came with a beer), nostalgic round.

Though I do miss the Oakridge days when it was an actual country club, and in good shape, and the pool and tennis were hopping. My first job was as a cart kid there, and growing up playing it a lot, definitely shaped my early golf ability.

Just played it a few weeks ago after some nice rains. Course was greened up and challenging due to some thick uncut rough. Nice track with tons of potential if they stepped up maintenance a bit. Overall a great value.

Glad to hear it's still up and running. Haven't played there much since the clubhouse literally blew up. I used to hit balls out there often until I clipped a lag bolt under the mat with my 4 iron. Wish they would have added some targets on the range and worked on that pitching practice green a little bit. Fun course for sure.

I live right down the road and haven't played it before but my dream has always been to buy it and turn it into to something like grass clippings in Phoenix.

But I'm a lolpoor so that's never happening

Played it back in April and it made Los Rios look like Brook Hollow. Comically bad. No range balls, range was all sand, ran out of carts even though the course was wide empty, greens were either dead or covered with weeds, tee boxes rock hard even though it wasn't even hot yet. Fairways essentially didn't exist.

Pro shop said there was plans to rebuild the clubhouse this summer but that's what they literally told everyone the previous 2 summers ? Was also told the greens keeper had quit a few months prior and the owners moved to another state.

It's kind of sad because the course layout is actually pretty fun. The condition is bad enough to where it's not even a viable option to play even for cheap. Course 2 at Sherrill Park just reopened with a 8.5 million dollar renovation and is right down the street. Course is in better condition than most entry-level country clubs and it's only on average about $10 more per round than duck Creek .

The old course at firewheel which is also near duck Creek is half way through a 5.4 million dollar renovation and will be significantly nicer at about the same price per round. The lakes course which is on the same property is nicer than duck Creek and in most cases equal to slightly cheaper.

I like duck Creek and have some nostalgia for it but it's at the point that they're just stringing along a course that needed to be completely gutted 4 or 5 years ago
