Going for the first time in March with the Fried Egg group. Playing 2,4, and 10. If the chance to play another onsite is available which should I add? Thanks.

If onsite, then 8. If offsite, then Southern Pines.

Love Fried Egg events. I've done multiple and will be doing another later this year to the Country Club in Cleveland.

Second the recommendation to play 8. Also, try and get a round in at The Cradle if you can.

Good to hear. This will be my first with them. Did multiple broken tee events last year. Im going to try and do Prairie Dunes and the Colorado event later this summer with FE.

We walked 10 last year and that course is a beast. Hole #6? is pretty cool as they left the pilings from the quarry on the fairway so no flat lie anywhere on that hole.

When we went to Pinehurst in March, it was still super cold…. Just watch weather and prepare accordingly

Good deal on TFE at Pinehurst. There's so much good golf in that area, I'm sure that whatever you choose its going to be a good supplement. Southern Pines has been renovated since I played it, but it was fun and the recent footage of it looks great.

I just recieved notice that I got accepted to the TFE SW Michigan event. Looking forward to playing those courses as well as seeing how TFE events compare to BTS.

With the new BTS update, the event that caught my eye is the Country Club at Brookline. But I imagine that one will get flooded with applicants.

Is 10 where the old course The Pitt used to be?

I dont think so but not 100% sure. We played it while the Uas Open was on #2 and it looked like it was all brand new. No clubhouse was there, temporary double wide and the turn snack shop was a food truck.

Didn't look like anything was there prior.

I can't emphasize enough how much Tobacco Road should be added to any Pinehurst itinerary

Any time for the Cradle?

Use caddies on the courses!

Our caddie told us that Pinehurst bought the property when the Pit went under and sat on it for quite a while before starting development. He said that after they finish No. 11, they plan to build a par 3 course with lights and add a hotel. Apparently The Cradle can't have lights and night play due to the city of Pinehurst, but the new one will be outside city limits allowing night play.

The Pit was really fun to play. I am sorry it did not survive.

Back in Houston after a great week. Getting out of IAH last week was super fun but made it to Raleigh. Unfortunately golf clubs didn't arrive until late next evening so missed out on #7 but still played 2,4,8, 10, and Cradle.

Its rare places live up to the hype but Pinehurst is in a league of its own. Wonderful town, food, and of course the golf. Play #2 if you're in any way a semi serious golfer. Probably my favorite course of all time now.

This was a Fried Egg event. Can't say enough nice things about this group. This was more my speed than the broken tee events. Looking forward to Colorado in August.

It's always a beautiful day at Pinehurst, service quality and courses are top notch (2,4,8,10, Cradle) are awesome

The pics from the event looked awesome. Having done a few Fried Egg events, how does the experience differ from a Broken Tee society one?

The only other multi-day event I've done is Sand Valley last summer with BTS. It was probably twice the field size (70 vs 36) so you don't really get to meet a lot of the guys. The overall vibe with FE was just more relaxed and easy going IMO. I haven't done any of the 1 day events with FE but the 2 with BTS last year were best ball format, which I'm not really in to either. I'm just there to enjoy the day and play a course I'll likely never be at again. I think FE lets you choose if you want to be included in the competition or just play your own round.

I signed up for the Colorado trip at the end of August with FE and really looking forward to that one. We're going to Colorado Golf Club then Rodeo Dunes the next day.

Gotcha. Yeah its definitely laid back. We're there just to appreciate the course and never been paired with anyone whos taking it too seriously. Just generally like minded people there to enjoy beautiful golf.

In August we're doing the Country Club in Cleveland

let me know how that one goes. I want to do some next year to places like that- courses you really can't play without knowing someone or through a group like this. I love they offer add-on rounds at clubs in the area. That's a nice perk as well.

Yeah my friend and I pick one each year that we couldn't get on any other way. Last year we did Essex County in Manchester by the Sea. Last year their add ons were Kittansett and Boston Golf Club, though we didn't do the add ons and instead did our own thing at Worchester.

Not sure what other course we'll play this time around. Thinking about Firestone.
