I have never posted on this forum, but have a question that is best served here.

Family is going to Hilton Head in June. We love golf and my sons are bringing their best friends….one of which is a D1 golfer. So we will likely play 4-6 rounds that long week.

What are your recommendations for courses to play in HH. Would like a good mix of reasonable fees and expensive. Probably a Harbour Town Linksish is a good final round before going home.

Thoughts? Thanks ahead of time.

Hilton Head National is my favorite course there. It's a middle of the road track price wise but it's such a good layout with really nice greens. At least they were in 2019.

We went to HH in 2021 and had time for just two rounds. We played Atlantic Dunes first (Davis Love course) and then, much like your plan OP, finished with Harbour Town Golf Links the day before we left for home.

Both courses were great, and I'd certainly recommend Atlantic Dunes as an option. Course was in good shape at that time, was easy to get a tee time, seemed to be well run, and got a view of the Atlantic on a couple holes. It was also reasonably priced at that time (for HH, of course).

I second the Atlantic dunes suggestion.

The palmetto dunes courses are decent for your cheaper rounds.

Was there in July '24 and never experienced humidity like that. Played the Sea PInes package of Dye Heron Point, Loves Atlantic Dunes and Harbour Town. Daughter got a hole-in-one on #10 Atlantic Dunes. They have plaques in pro shop of the names and dates of those. Restaurants reasonably priced. Reilley's, Harbour town lighthouse balcony overlooking #18, touristy Salty Dog and the Boathouse. Stayed in a 3/3 condo 80' from HT clubhouse.
If you fly in early to Savannah, do a tour if you are with family. I think I can give you the name of our private guide who is a history professor at U of S. Carolina. We visited on way and coming back. Cathedral of St. John, eat at the Pirates House. Fancier Olde Pink house, Chart House on the river. Find a place to drink the Chatham's Artillery Punch, but have a designated driver.

Just got back from there in February. Played Heron Pointe, Atlantic Dunes, Harbour Town, and Ol South. Loved 3 of 4, would skip Heron Point next time.
