By the photo, it looks like a previous model production that's now discontinued. Most people prefer the griddle option over the charbroiler. Probably been gathering dust in their warehouse for a while. Those are my guesses why it is so deeply discounted.

Kind of what I assumed but still surprising to me. With the lead times for thermador appliances I'd figure someone out there would pay just because it's in stock.
