We are looking to get a couple of the propane heaters for the patio / cabana area out back.

We want at least one if not two that can be moved around but put out a decent amount of heat.

Any updated recommendations for these? Propane vs wood pellet? Fixed overhead vs movable 'pole-type' heater most commonly seen? Mr Heater type heat "cannons"?

Trying to get some ideas from folks who have purchased / owned them. Thanks!

I've had 3 different propane heaters over the years and never got them to work more than a year before they had problems and we couldn't find parts for them to repair them. It's so frustrating.

AZ Patio heaters is a reputable mfr that has been around for a while and has support and parts available. They aren't any more expensive than the random China mfrs on Amazon, so it's worth picking up one of theirs. I think HD carries their stuff as well.

Wood pellets are cheaper than propane, the residue some use to enhance garden/lawn soils
You must haul, store, then feed this fuel in then dispose of it carefully, all the while keeping it dry, else it reverts to sawdust and back to the garden it goes.

Propane is not so perishable, easily stored, no disposal.
Even the feed could be direct to a truck filled tank,
so all you do is turn a knob ON-OFF in this unpredictable Texas weather.

Most commercial applications seem to be propane/gas termed "Tall"
but would think a backyard patio would benefit more form the tower types.
I like these choices
https://www.realsimple.com/home-organizing/decorating/outdoor-living/best-patio-heaters
but for me, would research something NOT from China, since they are dangerous and then the parts/repairs.

Such is why we didn't go back to HD when fireplace propane logs began to act up and be dangerous - we got a dealer/installer to find/install the replacement ones.
Gotta draw since me got no grammar MasterArch '76

* The pellet heaters are more expensive than the propane
* Pellets are cheaper than propane for fuel
* Pellet heaters put out MUCH more heat than propane
* I have a pellet smoker so storage of pellets is not an issue
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.
