Using power of group find here, I originally bought this slab and had it on hold then the supplier sold this to another person. Awesome right.

This was a remnant so there is not a whole lot of details about this top. The name they had on here was Carrara however we know it wasn't marble.

Anyone that might be in the stone business, as long of a shot as this is would love to see if anyone knows the name of this piece.

Quartzite is natural stone vs. quartz is man made. That means the veins in quartzite are real and runs through the slab whereas the veins on quartz are imprinted on the surface.

Quartz has come a long ways but natural stone will have more depth. You can also look on the underside of the slab to see if there is veining. Additionally, you can take a flashlight and press it against a vein on the edge - if it is translucent, then it is stone.

From the pictures, I'm fairly certain it is quartz but even if it is natural stone, you could have dolemite which is harder than marble but softer than quartzite.

My money is on natural stone, not sure if quartzite though.

That pattern isn't uncommon, Google stone yards in one of the big cities and sort on their website.

Not sure but some Google images found suggest Quartz Carrara

other images you find may sway this initial impression
