Need a new one that won't break after a few months!
Good size that will hold up to the abuse and use of a family.

Any recommendations?

We've had this one for 4 years, has worked great. Just recently the lid started popping off, so I drilled some holes and added some zipties. Fixed it. If it didn't, we'd have just bought a new one.

Out of curiosity, how are these breaking for you OP? My trash can is a plastic, well, trash can. It holds a bag. No moving parts. How are these getting broken? I think mine is 20 years old or maybe 25.

The pedals are what's breaking on ours. For years and years we just had to lift the lid. Finally got a new one and it's lasted maybe 2 years. Pedal broken again.

I'm a Simple Human fan. Love their no touch soap dispenser. We have an SH trash can but it's been relegated to recycling as our current home has a trash compactor. Don't sleep on a trash compactor.

We've had our simple human for probably 10+ yrs and no issues. Other than the cleaning ladies still can't figure out how to tighten the bag and run it through that hole.

I've had the Rubbermaid with the auto-opening lid for about 18 months. No issues, but it's just me and a dog. He does open the lid with his tail from time to time when the tail triggers the sensor (big dog).

Holy crap! Why is it so hard for people to figure out? Our cleaning lady could never figure it out either. We've had ours since 2010, and still going strong. The trash can, not the cleaning lady
