Anyone ever rebuilt a home AC motor? I've already got a new one installed and our AC is working again. However, I'd like to just replace the bearing on the old one since that's what went out. That way I have an extra motor I can find something else to do with. The problem is I'm having a hard time tracking down what actual bearing is needed. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Pull the old one out. Get it in hand. There you will find the answer you seek.

You'll want to measure it with something like a micrometer. For bearings my method of estimating with my thumb and forefinger and saying "oh, it's bout yay big." Will not yield adequate results.

Pull it out, measure it, and try to match it here.
