Has anyone had a problem were they had an animal getting into their Blackstone at night? I've got a hard cover and a softcover, so I've tried covering the grease escape and some sort of damn critter gets in there at night and I find little poop pellets everywhere. I clean the grill surface so there shouldn't be anything attracting critters in there. Has anyone has this problem before? How did you resolve it TIA.

Not really a solution for keeping them out, but I got one of those silicone covers for the griddle surface. I haven't had any major issues with critters, but I at least have something over the cooking surface if something does get in there…

I have not had any issues with mine but the thing smells like food and may have grease film in the catcher and that smells like food. Mice will eat little crumbs and lick whatever is on the grill. The hard cover won't keep them out since they can just shimmy in anywhere. It's not ideal but I don't consider it a problem. I just make sure I scrape my grill while it's hot and get all of the particles off that I can. When I use it next time I get it scorching hot before cooking on it.

I think the silicone thing would be good as it would keep your surface clean even if something gets in. Otherwise, I have chickens that jump on the grill and drink the grease out of the catch can. This keeps grease out of the can which reduces other animals from being interested but then you have a chicken problem.

I've had fox prints on the side tables but nothing seems to bother the grease trap. I use a silicone cover in addition to having the hard top.

I've had my Blackstone for 5 years or so and I've only recently had this problem...not sure what animal it is, but I'm also finding little pellets.

I just scrape them off, heat it up and throw some water on it to steam it before cooking.

When I had critters getting in mine, I just created a thick foil thing to block the hole for the grease trap and the problem went away. I also had the hard cover.

For those with the problem - what did you use to block the grease hole? I've taken off the soft cover and have just left the hard cover over the griddle. Its actually helped, maybe its lets inviting to the critter because its not as protected from the elements. Anyway, looking for something to cover that grease hole when not in use. I can't think of any other spot it could enter the cooking surface.
