What is the best way to do this for a new build?

Basement kitchen is framed up and electrical is being run as we speak. What is the recommended way to get upper and lower both on the same light switch. Wouldn't mind having a controller on it as well to adjust color and brightness (though a dimmer could solve that)

In our mudroom, I just hid a 1/2 hot receptacle in top corner of a cabinet up against the wall. Plug it in then fished the LED tape down the gap and stuck on the bottom of cabinets,so it's controlled by the light switch, but also has a remote for different colors and brightness. But the tape was a set length so I had to get creative to make it end where I wanted with no slack or not enough

Was wondering if there is a more proper way to do this for an exact length. In our main kitchen (pic below), there are hardwired fixtures under the cabinet up against the wall, and it seems like wire location coming out of the wall has to be really precise, which I kinda want to avoid. I also would rather continuous light.

Cabinets run for about 10' so not very long.
