I hate my gas pressure washer and ready for something electric. Are there any electrics on the market that will do driveway cleaning with enough pressure and gpm?

For reference my 2550psi 2.3gpm craftsman does a great job when it works.

They will do it but its god awful slow. Your passes will be much smaller and sometimes double passes compared to a single one on a good gas Pwasher. I only use my electric one for car washes now. Driveway, fence and house all get the gas one.

Thanks, I also have access to 20A circuits and 240V outlets in my garage (near my driveway).

This. An electric will make you want to kill yourself after 5 minutes.

I can't imagine doing a driveway with electric. Curious to see your experience.

FWIW, I have these still boxed in my garage. Just waiting for an empty weekend to put them to use:

Not the news I wanted. Was hoping for a new low-maintenance toy. I will throw another $13 chinesium carburetor at this thing and if that fails I guess I will buy another gasser.

Ethanol free gas and a bottle of carburetor cleaner when you let it set

My gas machines start everytime after ayear

I do turn thebgas off and run it out as best as posssible

Yeah, I need to take better care of mine. Also, I have loaned it out to a couple neighbors over the years that I guess have abused it and not done that.

Do any of y'all use the pump conditioner? I've seen stabil makes some.

I didn't know that existed. Curious as well if others use that and if it's recommended.

The pump is what broke on my last pressure washer. I bought a replacement pump off of Amazon that was "guaranteed to fit". It didn't. So, I put the whole thing by the curb and somebody picked it up within 15 mins.

I intend to take better care of my new pressure washer and accessories. What usually happens is by the time I've finished pressure washing on a weekend, I'm too exhausted to properly store it all, thinking that I'll take care of it within the next few days, which turns into never.

I had an electric Sunjoe, and some contractors broke it.

I bought that same Westinghouse. It was big, loud, worked a bit better, but heavy.

I sold it and went back to an Electric. The gas one is faster for power washing, but it's not 2x or 3x faster. Maybe 30-50%.

I used to have one of those electric Sunjoe power washers, now with a Westinghouse electric rig at the coast house, and combined with the Amazon 14" round 4 wheeled driveway cleaner to me it seems to clean the concrete up just fine. I bought my son the same combo and it seems to clean up his drive and sidewalks great also, just as well as the gas power washer/attachment combo at my house. The two things I try to do are use the 14" round cleaner attachment instead of a wand as it makes it many fold faster with no streaks, and also when I depress the electric power washer I try to keep the handle depressed the entire time, with no rapid on or off trigger pulls as it seems to be hard on electric power washers to stop/start all the time.

Also started with a gas pressure washer and moved to electric. Gas one starting leaking oil after a couple years and then failed to start. I have no issues maintaining my Honda lawn mower, but the gas pressure washer was constant maintenance. Electric is certainly slower, but at least it reliably works and once I added up all the maintenance time to maintain it, I wasn't saving much time.

If you don't have one, grab a cheap plastic fuel shut off valve (i see the fuel line clamped). Use that plus if its accessible, unscrew the nut on the carb bowl to drain it before storage (keep bowl on if possible to keep the seal from slipping and getting misaligned). Even after letting it burn off its fuel with a shutoff valve in place, the bowl can hold fuel. You'll have to prime it a little before the next to start her up use but thats pretty easy to do.

Thanks. The kit came with a valve, I cut the fuel line and spliced it in

I've had great luck doing driveways and the like with electric pressure washers with a surface cleaner attached.

I use this cleaner with a Ryobi surface cleaner I picked up cheap at home depot. Does a great job

Well, there's your problem. Get a washer with a Honda motor.

Was a free hand me down from my in-laws. But my mower has a Honda engine and it's a hoss.

The short answer to OP's question of will it work is no. Forget the pressure; cleaning is all about the water and there just isn't enough water from even the commercial electric pressure washers. They're great for washing cars and even cleaning out the garage. If you want to wash OFF the driveway, they (and the consumer ones for that matter) work find as well. But for exterior deep cleaning, you need at least 3GPM (I always recommend 4+, but some "prosumer" units have 3.2 and 3.5 -- and those are plenty).

Are people out there cleaning things with 1.x GPM electrics? Sure. That's what I used on my parent's house as I didn't want to lug my gas unit down there. (I've converted my electric units to accept the quick connect connectors like the gas units use so I can use the same hoses/guns). But I recommend that if you don't have a gas unit, go rent one with the surface cleaner attachment rather than using the electric unless you want to be out all day.

I will go do it for them before I'd let them touch my stuff.

Yeah, learned my lesson unfortunately.

Ended up finding more problems with my old one including keeping it running with a new carb and a new spark plug. So I dumped it. Bought this exact model, thing is a MONSTER.
