We had 8 inches of rain a week ago. Now it's a heatwave with wind. When should we start watering the grass? We have an HOA, so we have to keep the front yard greenish. Thanks

My plan is to stick my finger in the ground and when I can't feel moisture a couple inches down, start watering aiming for 1 inch a week it doesn't rain.

As of this morning, I'm not there yet.
