Howdy! We have approx 2,600 sq ft of wood floors. We have had an iRobot w/ self empty for several years. The poor thing is just not cutting it any more, the new robots have far higher suctions. Also, with iRobot in bankruptcy do not want to go there.

Problem is looking at the reviews of even the highest rated robots on Amazon. Even the best get +10% or higher 1 stars. I have always had a cutoff of 5% 1 Star as the max I would go when purchasing a new product. The best ones do not seem to be able to get but about 70% 5's.

So, what if any, is the best robot?? I am really confused and do REALLY need a new one. We are late 70's and cleaning this much hard wood weakly is a Big strain on my wife.

Please let me know your thoughts!!!

Get the most expensive Roborock you can afford. Ours are a couple years old but still work fine and we have 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs so there is hair everywhere.

On our main level, which is mostly wood floors and a couple rugs, we have a Q8 max+, the self-emptying and mopping features are great.

Our upstairs is mostly carpet, and there we have a Q5 max+. The key here is triggering the setting that vacuums in a criss-cross pattern to get up most of the hair.

Howdy The Pilot: Thanks, looking strongly at the Roborock - S8 MaxV Ultra Robot Vacuum and Mop. It has way better than most 5's and MUCH less 1's than anything I can find. Thanks for the tip!!

Wife bought this for her/us as a Christmas gift.

eufy Robot Vacuum E25, HydroJet System with Roller Mop, 20,000 Pa Turbo Suction, All-in-One Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo, Edge-to-Corner Cleaning, Zero-Tangle Design, AI Obstacle Avoidance (Upgraded)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FK2HPNCB?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3&th=1

I believe she might love it more than me. All hard floors and multiple dogs. We had a shark self emptying unit that was 5 years old and only vacuumed. The eufy is worlds better and the mopping part works really well. The AI/mapping seems worlds better. Covers completely and has only gotten stuck a couple times - cords seem to be it's one weakness. Made a hugely noticeable difference immediately. Highly recommend.

follow my strategy.

Are you a Costco member? if so, go buy the only one they sale. Typically a really nice iRobot. It will crap out. When it does, take it back to Costco and get a full refund.

They will no longer sell that model because it changes, so they give you a full refund in credit. Proceed to then go buy a brand new one.

Rinse. Repeat.

We are now on our 3rd from Costco in 6 years. Have only paid for 1. iRobot goes bankrupt? they will instead carry a Shark or something else of equal quality. Buy that. Continue.

Roborock is fantastic. I love mine and the only thing I'm sad about it is it still works great after 5 years so I have no excuse to upgrade to a self emptying one

I've had a Roborock QRevo Slim for a year now, it's been great. No regrets on buying it.

One thing that I really like compared to the Roomba that died after 7 months and had the warranty claim rejected is that the wearable parts last a very long time.

On the Roomba, I was having to change the side brushes every 2 - 3 weeks, the bristles would be completely gone when changed. On the Roborock, I change after 6 months and they still look pretty good. On the Roomba, I changed the main brushes after 6 months, on the Roborock, I'm at just over a year and the brushes still do not need changing. That makes it less costly to run.

Happy with a Roborock I got off Amazon last year (Q5 Max). Does what it says it does and a decent app. Just research the prices - mine the price routinely jumped and fell by huge percentages. Just check the price history and wait it out until it gets to the low.

Another vote for Roborock QRevo. Make sure you get a model that has the moving mop head to get along baseboards and corners.

If you have dogs, the dual rollers are key. We have an old Wyze in the basement and it's a constant PITA cleaning the roller. The dual rollers still get hair but not nearly as much.
