Washing machine draining issue: When draining, water spills over the lip of wall drain pipe and onto floor. I can drain into nearby sink just fine, so seemingly no problem with external drain pipe or machine itself. But I run a wire down wall pipe and sense no obstruction. Ever had this issue? Thoughts? Do I need to get plumbing snake to conduct more thorough test of wall pipe? TIA.

Run a snake down it there's a P-trap in the wall or there should be. If that doesn't work and you're in DFW, I have an inspection camera that would get through the P-trap only not any further.

Thanks for the offer to help. I'm on BCS. I ran a snake as far as i could get it to go. (Probably no farther than to the foundation based on the length that went in.) A little lint came back out, not much. I took a garden hose and ran water into the pipe at a pressure I think approximated washer discharge. No problems, so I'm going to hook it back up and see if positioning the discharge hose better will help.

Btw, pretty pleased with my work-around: a six-foot hose, a clamp and some duct tape made draining into the utility room sink workable.

Welp, failure. When I inserted the drain hose back in the wall pipe and ran a quick rinse test, same happened as before: water backed up and flowed out the wall pipe.

I am open to any suggestions before surrendering to a plumber. TIA.

Had this happen once. I was draining into the sink and then that water started backing up into a nearby shower. I ended up adding some clothes line to a plumbing snake to make it extend further and dropping it down the vent pipe from the roof. I could tell immediately I had hit the clog and released it and had no more issues.
