Does anyone make a standard LED light bulb worth a crap? These things seem to fail faster than incandescents did. I've tried Feit (from Costco) and Philips thus far. The Feits were failing in record time. Philips have been an improvement, but I still feel like an LED bulb should last longer than a couple years.

No. I've been scavenging old incandescent and halogens to go back to those. I think you can still buy them online.

LED suck. I have successfully 'fixed' some, but many can't be fixed. They are green as hell though, right? I mean, I hope the ones I throw directly in the trash can are helping the landfill somewhere.

Yeah, I think the good 7 year olds that made the first couple batches have graduated to bigger sweat shops and these current 7 year olds just don't have the same work ethic. Complete crap products. The label saying they last ten years is there just to piss me off. I have started writing the install date on the bulb, just to make sure I am not crazy and they really do suck.

Be sure not to use LEDs in enclosed fixtures - the heat kills them. Use a CFL instead

Wife just started her war on LED light bulbs. Gone full Karen on the topic. Saving receipts and documenting dates.

bought 20 LED shop lights from lowes and filed a warranty claim every 3 -6 months for the 5 years i was allowed. Ended up throwing away about 40 failed lights. Name brand hardly means anything anymore.

I've had the same cheap LED's for about 5 years now. Not a single one has gone out. I'll find out the brand when I'm home next.

I buy the EcoSmart brand bulbs (teal colored box) from Home Depot and they are great. I have converted literally every light in my house to these bulbs and They RARELY fail. Maybe once every few years. I have some in my house that are 10+ years old. Defintely recommend them.

I have about 15 Phillips UltraDef bulbs, and the rest are Satco installed throughout the house. Haven't replaced a single bulb in 5+ years. I've also heard numerous good things about Ikea bulbs if you have one near you.

I replaced my recessed incandescent lights with CREE LED lights in 2013. I've never had one fail.
