My family (2 adults and 2 kids) need a hotel next week for a mini-vacation at SeaWorld and Fiesta, TX. Any recommendations nearby?

Are you wanting a nicer hotel with plenty of amenities, or clean beds and a place to dump your stuff?

Hyatt Hill Country Resort. Upper end hotel, spittin' distance from Sea World, about 20 minutes from Fiesta Texas

I've never been to these, but I drive by them every day headed home (they're about 10 minutes from my house). Look clean enough in a non-hoodrat area. Afternoon traffic sucks along the access road, but it's close to plenty of restaurants, movie theatre, Target, etc. These two are almost exactly halfway between FT and SW.

These two are probably 89-100/night. The Hyatt is more like 189-199/night. There's another nice hotel near the Hyatt whose name escapes me.

We are mostly interested in clean beds, safe environment, and a good hotel. I'm not looking for "cheapest option available" by any means but I don't want to stay at the Waldorf Astoria with my kids either. Anywhere from $100-$200 a night is super reasonable.

^^ That. Any of the ones off of 151 between Loop 410 and 1604 should be just fine and easily in your price range.

The Holiday Inn off of 151 and Military by Sea World is nice. It's in that price range and they do free shuttles to Sea World so you don't have to pay for parking. We live in that area, most every hotel is relatively new and decent. (Avoid the hotels on 410, they are usually a little older.) The 2 parks aren't too close to each other, so you typically can stay near one or the other.

I live in Helotes which is nearly halfway between the two parks. Our son graduated from HS last month and we had too much family to let them all stay with us. Everyone had great a experience with Quality Inn near Braun & 1604. If you call them they will sometimes give you better deal.

That should be the one I posted above. Good to know it's not a dump on the inside.

There's plenty of stuff up and down 151 as well in terms of food and whatnot. There's also a Main Event on 151 and I think Potranco where you can turn the kids loose and sit back in the AC with a beer.

Drive by the Alamo so your kids can say "That's it?"

Eat a good breakfast taco, as in from someplace other than Taco Cabana, Bill Millers, or Whataburger.

Eat good Mexican food.

Don't leave anything with a furry tail or that votes Democrat behind.

Don't forget Alamo Ranch around the corner - food chains galore

If you stay closer to Fiesta Texas, you'll have access to the Rim shopping center as well as stuff around Dezavala/I-10

Drury Inn at 1604 and IH-10 is great!

I always stay at the Homewood Suites at I10 and Wurtzbach. I'm a Hilton guy and the place is always pretty good and around $125/night.
