Looking for recommendations for an optometrist on the Northwest Side (anywhere from 1604 & Bandera to 1604 & 281 would be preferred). I just need a standard eye exam and some glasses. I have insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield. I fear that my long-distance vision has taken a hit after years of staring at computer screens.

I don't a vast experience as I have only gone to one OD my whole life, but I would highly recommend him. He is Dr. Richard Rigsby and he is at 281/Brook Hollow. This is within 2 miles of 1604/281.

I use EyeTX on DeZavala. They rotate optometrists but they have all been good. Easy to schedule with and have a decent selection of frames. Not sure if they work with BCBS though..

I get checked at Eye-Deal Vision off 1604 & Hausman. Dr Rogalinski gave a very thorough exam to diagnose my jacked up vision.

Derek Meade at 281/1604, been great for me for years and years. He's a UF grad, we talk football.

I use Today's Vision at Bandera Road and 1604 - Dr. Sabrina Rubio and Dr. Amanda Mendiola. I've used them for 10 years. They have great equipment and do a great job of diagnosis. However, they are a bit expensive on the glasses and contacts.
