I believe the John Jay QB, Reynolds, posted on his twitter the night of the game that the ref was making racial comments towards the John Jay team, and he was not the only member of the team that posted about it.

Ahhhh, good ol Racism.....no matter what the crime it's the perfect cover up because it's always hearsay. I call BS. Unless this was his first game there would be a history of accusations. You wouldn't just start making racist comments all of the sudden

The coache's asses should be in the hot seat for letting one of those kids back on the field after the ref accidentally tossed the wrong player. The thug then took a cheap shot on a QB who had kneeled down

I have seen mentions on my friends' FB posts (I'm from B/CS) that College Station HS scrimmaged Jay and Jay broke their (D1 bound) QB's leg with a dirty play a few weeks ago. I hope these people are wrong because that would really compound the mess.

CS Cougars scrimmaged against Jay in Bastrop before the season. Cougars QB Ty Brock suffered a broken leg early in the scrimmage, but CS coach Steve Huff said Jay players did not do anything improper.

I played freshman basketball for Lee in '82. When we played at Jay another bus had to be called in to take us back postgame because the air had been let out of our bus tires.

A buddy of mine refs high school football here in SA. He doesn't know the guy involved here since he is from the Austin area, but he asked around and was told that the guy has a reputation as very mild mannered dude. Fwiw.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure my son would have never come up with the idea to attack that ref. Also if the coach told him to do it, he would have said "no coach, that's not right". If the coach said do it or you are off the team, I would think he would hand him his helmet. If he did do it on his own or even if the coach "ordered" him to, he sure as hell would have never left the house to go to NYC to be on television.

That I could guarantee.

Hey, I grew up in SA... would have gone to Holmes until we moved outside 1604. Jay was a bunch of little thugs back then... not shocked they are now...
