Have to agree! FIL is the finance director there so that helps.

Probably doesn't hurt to get the friends and family discount. How about hooking us up with that?

Gunn is interesting, they really do just give their best prices. They do price certain cars "better" compared to the market value but they don't do discounts even for employees/family. I paid the same price as the everyday dude. The only way I got hooked up was through financing. Didn't have the interest rate marked up. Also just double checked with him if the car was priced as a good deal or at market value.

Pretty cool that they treat every customer (mostly) the same regardless of "who" they are/know.

I would consider financing through RBFCU if you can.......they got me a 1.2% rate.

Ended up changing my mind after test driving and bought an 2015 F150 Platinum Ecoboost. Only had it for a week but it is sweet. Friend of a friend is the sales manager at McCombs Ford.

Test drove at Cavender Chevrolet yesterday, and Ancira Chevrolet today. An almost night and day experience.

The salesman at Cavender was friendly and understanding when, at the end of the test drives, I told him I would be looking at other dealerships to weigh my options. He completely understood and was very helpful.

The salesman at Ancira must have been having a bad day. Made his pitch about the truck, spoke little during the test drive (even when answering truck questions), and decided to cop an attitude with me when I told him I was still weighing my options, and would not be buying today. I may still do business with them, but I'm going to always remember today's less-than-pleasant experience.

FYI - I was able to get a better price from the internet guy than the actual sales guy with Cavender. I got the sales guy to give me his best price. I said its just too high and I would pass. I found the suburban online and called the internet sales guy and said if he could get it for X, which was about $1,000 under the price sales guy could get me, I would be there in 30 minutes to buy it. He said let me see what I can do. He called me back in 15 minutes and said come in we have a deal. The uncomfortable part he put me back with the original sales guy to do all the paperwork. The sales guy said, heck if you can get a better deal from him (internet guy), why wouldn't you (he mentioned they have more leeway in pricing fwiw). No attitude and was very helpful. His name was Earl Floyd. Really liked the guy.
