My 2016 Honda Accord Sport got reared last week when I was at the light. They person that hit me has USAA and they are wanting me to start getting estimates at Caliber in San Antonio off New Braunfels Ave. We purchased the car at Gunn Honda and also want an estimate from them since the car is only 6 months old. Has anybody used either place or have recommendations for other shops in San Antonio? Thanks in advance!

Also posted on the automotive board. Thanks!

I've had two vehicles seen the inside of a collision center in the last 6 months and below are some of my experiences...

1) If they are at fault any paying for the damages you have the right to take your car anywhere you want.

2) Caliber (do not recommend the Culebra location) will take the whole insurance check and I wasn't impressed with their customer service skills at their Culebra location when I tried to get a quote.... which I never got.

3) Miracle Body (do not recommend) was really nice and talked a great game until it was determined my vehicle was totaled... After trying to get a hold of my point of contact there all day on a Friday to tell him the car is going to be sold off he finally calls me back at 5:30 p.m. He immediately proceeds to tell me I need to get my car out by noon the next day (Saturday). After I chewed them out for their unreasonable time frame, they gave me until end of business Tuesday; which, allowed me to shop my vehicle around until I got the best possible deal. I didn't expect charity from them as I gladly paid their storage fees... I just wanted a reasonable period to shop it around.

4) Helotes Collision (recommended) did a phenomenal job on my 2013 Honda Accord that needed repair and a new paint job on the rear bumper. Good customer service and reasonable prices. In my case they were the 2nd least expensive option but had superior service to my least expensive option.

5) be sure to put in for the depreciation claim.

Good luck! Let me know if I can provide more detail

Don't let insurance pressure you to go anywhere. You are legally allowed to take the car where you want.

Thanks for the input! Have an appointment tomorrow with the dealership collision center so hopefully we can get it repaired soon.
