Why is hotel Emma so darn expensive. What am I missing? I've stayed in plenty of nice places but $600-700 for basic rooms do they serve free drugs or something?

Supply and demand plus they have to keep it priced correctly for the atmosphere and clientele they desire. It's also the nicest hotel in the city and you're not confined to it like a resort hotel.

It's damn nice. I wouldn't pay it but to many $600 a night is nothing.

I agree with aggiejumper. There really just isn't anything else that compares to this, in San Antonio. The mix of amenities, restaurants, bars, etc. just doesn't come close anywhere else. My wife and I were fortunate enough to be in a wedding that was held there, and two days there was amazing. If you're a history buff, Emma's history only adds to the coolness factor it brings.

We paid a "measly" $450 a night lol. Still more than I wanted to pay, but it was a great experience.

Prices are high this summer. Normally I've seen $400-$600 for weekends which fits with how nice it is.

It's where people on expense accounts stay in San Antonio. I've never stayed there, but I've heard from a lot of people who travel all over the US that it's one of their favorites in the country.
