One Good District Judge

We have one hard ass district judge in Bexar County. When people fail to show for court she issues an arrest warrant for Failure To Appear. The defendants then get arrested for their failure, put in jail with a higher bond because they have shown an unwillingness to appear as they promised when they were granted a bond. As should be done and is still being done in every county in the state that has not gone BS crazy.

Melisa Skinner is her name. And she is receiving all sorts of grief from the sheriff's office, the DAs office and other district judges because, as they complain, she is filling up the jail. She is a Republican so has very little chance of being re-elected in November. But please remember her name.

And no, I am not Mr. Skinner. I am just concerned about the state of our judiciary in Texas and specifically Bexar County.

Thanks. It's sad that a judge following the law and holding criminals accountable results in a rebuke from our sheriff (whose job is to enforce the law). Perhaps because he needs more room in the county jail for all his deputies that can't stay out of trouble? Same goes for our Soros installed DA. I used to think the last guy being bought and paid for by Thomas J Henry was bad but anyone that Soros has paid for is a POS and doesn't deserve to hold office.

It is the duty of judges and the DA to enforce the law. If the jail is overcrowded, that is the problem of the sheriff and county judge/commissioners. Covid had created problems in the criminal justice system but the solution is not letting felons out of jail with no or low bonds.

To make it somewhat Aggie related, Judge Skinner's husband is a Marine and her daughter and youngest son are Aggies.
