We are transplants since 2000. But I did grow up coming to visit my Grandmother here my whole life. She lived off Marbach & 410. Every time we were here we went to Browning UMC with her, which I believe they dozed down to put in a road. I can never figure out where that church was.

Transplant since late 2009. Grew up and lived in Allen (north of Dallas), relocated to SA with employer. Currently live north central, Bitters inside 1604.

Before moving here, always viewed SA as a place to visit, but having lived here, don't care to move out of the area. Really, really enjoy living in SA, don't miss DFW one bit except for family. Pace is much less frenetic, though I do fear the development which is connecting SA and Austin has already reduced the laid-back feeling and attitudes here, and will eventually make it feel more like DFW or Houston. That's progress, I suppose, though not by my definition.

I never wanted to move back after college (did some time in Dallas, Houston and London and spent a lot of weekends in Austin) and I wasn't a happy camper when I returned. It's come a long way from the olden days when you had to leave for a decent job and there wasn't as much to do on weekend nights as there is now. The ability to get out of town easily and into the outdoors is pretty great.

It's honestly a great place and just the right size. I've become a believer.

I wasn't born in SA, but I got here as fast as I could, fall of '52. I grew up and graduated from Alamo Heights.
I live in Schertz now. You can take the boy out of 09, but you can't take the 09 out of the boy.

Yeah I met my wife (she's from Plano) at A&M and she was happy to make our life in SA. It really is a great place. We enjoy that it has a cultural identity, decent amount of live music options in the area, good schools, and access to a variety of outdoor options.

Transplant since 2003 and refused to go back to Houston after I graduated. Husband grew up around Marbach and 410 and went to Jay. I definitely see the laid back mentality disappearing more and more especially with the other kids parents I deal with and the ******* aggressive drivers.

Born in Austin, grew up in Hays County.

Like a lot of people, we rarely came to San Antonio because we thought it was just a tourist town. In some ways, it kind of still has that mindset.

Moved to '09 in 2006. San Antonio has been good to us, but we're looking forward to moving out in a few years. The city council gets worse with every election.

Born in Santa Rosa downtown, room is still a shrine. Grew up near 410/I-10 interchange behind Malibu Grand Prix and Castle Golf and Games. Played a ton in those woods prior to the development. Jackson MS and Churchill (Lee just changed district boundaries and my mom didn't want my sister at Churchill and me at Lee and it will be Robert E. Lee High School forever to me).

After A&M, worked in Houston for a little over a year and the company said they were opening an office if I wanted to move back. Didn't plan to, it just sort of happened. Lived in Hidden Forest for 19 years, now in Mission Ridge. Both kids graduated from Churchill.

I just like the area, hate the politics, like good, cheap golf. The War Department's family is here close by and so are the kids, so not a big reason to leave just yet as the politics get worse and worse.

Transplant here. Born and raised in Columbus which is a small town of about 3,500 between SA and Houston. Yes it is the town that has Schobel's Restaurant right off the exit because I get that a lot. Fun fact, my sister-in-law is a Schobel.

Graduated from TAMU in August of 2006 after a victory lap and moved to SA to work for a construction company and have been here ever since.
