Me too, actually. My folks still live there. Some of the last original owners. I graduated high school in '95.bam02 said:

I never wanted to move back after college (did some time in Dallas, Houston and London and spent a lot of weekends in Austin) and I wasn't a happy camper when I returned. It's come a long way from the olden days when you had to leave for a decent job and there wasn't as much to do on weekend nights as there is now. The ability to get out of town easily and into the outdoors is pretty great.Quote:
Before moving here, always viewed SA as a place to visit, but having lived here, don't care to move out of the area. Really, really enjoy living in SA, don't miss DFW one bit except for family.

Born in Santa Rosa downtown, room is still a shrine. Grew up near 410/I-10 interchange behind Malibu Grand Prix and Castle Golf and Games. Played a ton in those woods prior to the development. Jackson MS and Churchill (Lee just changed district boundaries and my mom didn't want my sister at Churchill and me at Lee and it will be Robert E. Lee High School forever to me).
After A&M, worked in Houston for a little over a year and the company said they were opening an office if I wanted to move back. Didn't plan to, it just sort of happened. Lived in Hidden Forest for 19 years, now in Mission Ridge. Both kids graduated from Churchill.
I just like the area, hate the politics, like good, cheap golf. The War Department's family is here close by and so are the kids, so not a big reason to leave just yet as the politics get worse and worse.
