A classmate of mine is currently in ICU and his family is need of an attorney in the SA area that specializes in medical malpractice. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well as thoughts and prayers for him and his entire family.

This isn't virus related

If you truly want the best of the best call Paul Gold. His office is in Houston but he practices all over. He is the best.

When I really needed a malpractice attorney a few years ago every good attorney I know said he was the best and all the research I did seemed to prove it. He is brutal in the courtroom.

I'm a civil defense attorney in SA. Here, the Maloneys owned medical malpractice up until tort reform basically eliminated it as a viable primary practice. Also, Paula Wyatt does a fair bit and an Atty in her practice, Gavin McInnes, is very good at it.

The tort reform aspect is something to keep in mind. Generally, to even file suit you have to attach an affidavit from a doctor that says the burden of care was not met by the defendant. And recovery is limited to actual economic damages (past/future medical bills, lost wages/earnings) plus a limit of $250K on non-economic damages (pain/suffering, anguish, impairment, etc.). I don't practice malpractice so it's not my forte.
