I have met Perry a couple of times, but I do not know him personally. He and his staff have always been professional and attentive when I have dealt with him. That said, I always had a spidey-sense that he was frustrated to the point of looking forward to being off council. I too would have grown tired of that band of idiots. Maybe this will be an out for him. If he has some personal issues, I pray he gets help for them.


Pure speculation, but I halfway expect him to resign. He will have a hard time fighting this. His term is up soon anyway. Mayor Meathead will then appoint some crony yes man to finish the term, and D10 will get shafted somehow. He never seemed like he had many allies on council anyway.

Special meeting today to vote on "no confidence" resolution for Perry. It passed with Bravo abstaining. Most speakers from D10 spoke in support of Perry. Most of the council spoke in support as well but included there was accountability at stake.

Perry did not resign, but plans to take a leave of absence to get help and recover. Council will consider interim replacements during his absence at at future meetings.

If you live in D9 you have my sympathy. John Courage is a moderate, preachy, DB.

It's right down the street from where I live. Earlier in 2022 someone I know said they ran into him there (Evil Olive) and he sat down and drank with them. Thought it was a little strange at the time but blew it off. But it would seem he was no stranger to the place.

The Bill Miller's referenced is directly across the street.

He's responsible for himself but it's crazy to me that a bar can serve someone 14 drinks in 4 hours and think they'll be okay.

Agree on his responsibility. Bartender serving him 14 drinks had to have add a few $$ to the tip line.

Perry is an Aggie Class of 79. Hope he gets the help he needs. Fourteen drinks in four hours would level me for three days. I regret it the next day if I have four drinks in four hours.

Marc Whyte (think I spelled that right) was knocking on doors in my neighborhood over the weekend and we spoke for a few minutes. Seemed like a nice guy, and he's got my vote.
