ANNOUNCEMENT

The Commanding General of the Texas State Guard is pleased to announce the selection of Colonel Gerald (Jake) Betty as the Deputy Commanding General for the Army Component Command, Texas State Guard effective 23 March 2013.
COL Betty retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in 2003 and was appointed to the Texas State Guard in January of 2006 where he initial...ly served as the Assistant Plans and Operations Officer. COL Betty served as the Commander of the 8th Regiment (CA) Texas State Guard in Houston, then was assigned to the Texas State Headquarters, first as the J3 Director of Professional Military Education program and followed by an assignment as the Director of Personnel and Administration.

COL Betty currently resides in College Station with his wife Julianne.
