My wife and I have donated a new house to a wounded vet and we need help making it a home. John and his wife are living in Camp Hope which means they are starting with almost nothing. Would you help us?

The home was donated through the Bay Area Builders Association Operation Finally Home 501c3 (www.operationfinallyhome.org). We will hand the keys over formally with Ted Nugent at the NRA convention here in Houston in May.

John served multiple tours and finally had a CH-46 shot out from under him. He suffered brain and back injuries as a result.

I figure we owe him a thank you. And when John and his wife are on the couch enjoying themselves we're gonna find somebody else and thank them, too.

So take a second and remember we get to put our heads down at night feeling secure because some amazing people take the fight to the bad guys every day.

Here is the link to donate. You can type "John K Rockport home" or something similar in the "purpose" box to earmark your donation for John and his wife.

If you have any questions you can contact Daniel Vargas (his info is on the link) or send me a note directly.

Thanks for reading this and your consideration.

I'd think the local furniture companies might come together to help. Company A furnishes the living room, B furnishes a bedroom, etc. Each company sponsors a room in the house to fill it up. Auto parts store tricks out the garage, Home Depot furnishes the storage building with lawn equipment, etc.

Need some feedback anyway. For the 150 folks who have read this and didn't want to say thanks to a homeless wounded vet......

Can you please post up and let me know what it was that kept you from doing it? Obviously if there is something I can change to get more interest in the future, I'm all ears.

I know internet forums are notorious for their large percentage of people that talk lots but don't do much....but Ags?

Zowie, batman.

Thanks for your constructive criticism.

Dude, the military board just doesn't get much traffic. Email the moderators and see if you can get the thread "stickied" on the football premium board, you will get tons of help.

It also seems odd you'd chastise a bunch of vets for not "thanking" another vet.

Go to Gallery Furniture and talk with Mattress Mac. He's up at the front desk 95% of the day 6 days a week, and 50% of the day on Sunday.

Can you post the email here to contact? I couldn't find it on the website and sent a general inquiry but never heard back. Thanks

First and foremost I want to thank all of you for your service and sacrifice.

Second, I had trouble finding the information as well.

Diyala is correct. Try to get your message added to the football board.

Brad,

I read your post, and said a private prayer and thanks.

From reading your post, I did not understand you wanted a public "here" or "thanks". I thought you were putting the story out there for help in getting the home furnished.

Also, I cannot open your link. Can you provide more info. on where the house is? I assumed it was in San Francisco since you used the term Bay Area, but the more I think about it, that could be anywhere near a body of water.

As others have said, this board does not get much action. I still have a post on the 1st page about field stripping an M1 Garand. That was weeks ago. Had I posted the same on one of the more popular forums, it would be on page 90 by now. I say this because it appears by the low number of post that you are new to Texags. In order to get more responses, you will have to do as others have said.
