7 Day Option Question (AF)

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I got notified of a PCS, which I am planning on exercising the 7-day option. Basically you have 7 days to put in your separation paperwork. What confuses me is when my separation date would be. My assignment selection date was 7 June, my Active Duty Service Committment has expired (in Dec 2011). I got a notification yesterday that I was selected for PCS.

Looking at AFI 36-2110:

Paragraph 2.30.2.2

quote:
Officers with no ADSC (and those with an ADSC which will expire before the requested date of separation or retirement) may request a separation or retirement date which is no later than the first day of the 12th month following their ASD (mo/yr) or 1st day of the 7th month following official event notification (mo/yr), except

One of the exceptions is Paragraph 2.30.2.2.4:

quote:
Officers with no ADSC (and those with an ADSC which will expire before the requested date of separation or retirement) may request a separation or retirement date which is no later than the first day of the 12th month following event notification.

So the million dollar question is, will my separation date be as early as 1 Jan, or can it be 1 June?

Thanks for any help.

You'll get better help from your local CBPO.

The lady at the assignments section on base SEEMED to think it was the 12 month option, but she wasn't 100% sure. Seems to be a running deal with our personnel office.
