The Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas officially became Texas A&M University 50 years ago today!

My dad is AMC class of 1958. When he was at school it was an all male, military hell hole, that was lovingly called "Sing Sing on the Brazos"

My time at A&M was in the mid 80's and we saw the first women in the band, the first woman on corps staff, and the official recognition of frats on campus.
