He was featured yesterday in the Commandant's newsletter. What stood out to me was that he was a Guard at Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery. From the Commandant:
quote:
Junior Yell Leader Roy May ’15 found his way to Texas A&M in a very unconventional way, but his time as a cadet has been very successful. A veteran of the US Army, Roy worked rescue and recovery at the Pentagon after 9-11, was a member of the Continental Color Guard, and served as a tomb guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery. He also deployed to Iraq as a member of the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. Roy has returned to Texas A&M to pursue his degree, seek a commission in the US Army, and follow in his father’s footsteps as a member of the Corps of Cadets. Roy is an exceptional young man who has served his country well, and is now serving our Corps and University well as a member of D Company and as a Yell Leader. We are all very proud of him and all that he does for our Corps and our university.
