I didn't see this posted yet. Clarence E. Sasser is being added to the Texas A&M Hall of Honor on 7 November 2013. Good bull!

His citation can be viewed here.

The website contradicts itself. So did he graduate from A&M or not? If not, then why do they say he is a graduate?

I don't care whether he did graduate from A&M or not, I just hate the inconsistencies in the article.

The article says he enrolled in August of '69 but like some other Aggie MOH recipients he did not graduate. Regardless, I still think it is great to honor one of our heroes in this manner.

I know that, just the article said both.
It is a great honor nonetheless.

I don't see it saying he graduated...

The real story is that Sasser attended Univ of Houston before being awarded the Medal of Honor. He should be honored by UH not A&M since he was not a former student when awarded the MOH. TAMU honors former students for accomplishments after attending A&M, not for achievements before coming to A&M. To look at it another way, if RGIII enrolled as a grad student at A&M, would the university claim that we had three Heisman Trophy winners? Since his year at A&M he has shown no interest in A&M and his name was only recently listed in the directory of former students. This does not pass the smell test. It appears to me that the univ. has violated its own code.

Cowboy, who cares? He obviously doesn't care about UofH. Otherwise he would let them display it, but he chose A&M.

Doesn't matter when he earned it...he embodies the very spirit that Texas A&M is about.

Sounds to me you are jealous.

Specific wording of said "code"???

And if you're trying to say the Honor Code, I don't see that at all.

There is no legal definition of "Aggie". It's pretty much a personal choice. The MOH recipients we honor include those who graduated from A&M, those who attended but did not graduate, and those who attended and finished elsewhere.

Given those variations, it seems arbitrary to draw the line at before/after A&M attendance.

It seems Mr. Sasser has claimed us, we should be honored to claim him in return.

Cow, you have to be kidding. Have you forgotten, "Once an Aggie, always an Aggie."
