I had the honor of serving under MG Marty when he was the CG of the Artillery School. I also had his son under my command when I commanded the 1st Cav DivArty. Both damn fine artilleymen. RIP, MG Marty. Job well done! King of Battle!

I am sorry to hear that especially at his relatively young age. He was the commander of the USAFAS when I attended FAOBC in 1991 (Tommy Franks was then the deputy commander). My thoughts and prayer go out to Mrs. Marty Marty.

I had the privilege to escort him and Mrs. Marty when they visited Fort Sill, and secretly picked out his plot. A mere 6-weeks later we received the news.

Glad I got to meet such great ambassador to our Army and country. Will remember this for the rest of my career.
