My brother in law is about to start euro nato joint jet pilot training at Sheppard AFB in wichita falls. I'm trying to get a feel for what is offered on the base regarding a Christmas/commissioning present...

I assume he's going to be pretty busy so may need a starbucks gift card and something else. Not sure if starbucks even exist there, couldnt find anything online.

Wichita Falls has just about everything...doesn't need to necessarily be on post only.

Does your BIL golf? Sheppard used to have a pretty damned good golf course, maybe they still do.

Back in the mid-60s I was in High School and we lived in Sheppard Wherry housing just down the street from the golf course.

A Gen officer got fired and was forced to retire because he got caught diverting funds from base upgrades to golf course upgrades. Word was Sheppard had one of the premier golf courses in the entire AF.

It was a great make-out place after the sun went down.

hes not a boozer and he doesnt play golf, family is very against drinking. i was thinkin starbucks since he will be studying his butt off and need a pick me up or somethin. thanks guys for the responses.

Get him a gift certificate to Jerry's Sporting Goods in Wichita Falls. Jerry is a good Ag (class of '77), and he's got a great selection of apparel, shoes, etc...and he can special order just about anything.

Jerry's Sporting Goods just off of Southwest Parkway is a great store and would be an excellent choice. By the way, Sheppard AFB does have an outstanding golf course.
