My grandfather, a veteran of the Korean War, died earlier this week. He requested to family members that he be buried at the DFW National Cemetery. We've not had any luck getting cleared by the St. Louis VA office, despite providing them with proof of Active Service and his honorable discharge. Anyone have any tips/thoughts/comments? Thanks in advance.

Also, try contacting TX Congressman Ted Poe, his dad was Korean Vet and he might help out just because of that!

My Dad is at DFW National Cemetary--also a Korean era veteran. He died on a Tuesday and we buried him at DFW on a Friday. Our funeral director did the major leg work--and we did have copies of his discharge papers. The only issue I had was documenting his final rank (Captain) for his marker. He had been promoted in the inactive reserve and I had to dig to find documentation of his promotion.

Thanks for the responses guys. I have called Congressman Joe Barton's office and they are trying to help me out. According to the VA folks in St. Louis it should hopefully be approved by next Tuesday.
