I can say without a doubt that the Corps lost one of it's best advisors to date today. Aggie 509th retired.

Somebody on facebook posted that he kept "the dirty 3rd" out of trouble. (The dirty 3rd being, in my time in the Corps, D-1, L-1, K-1 and E-1) I contend that Aggie 509th let those gents get in all the trouble he could without getting himself, or them in real trouble. He absolutely knew where the line between good bull and bull**** needed to be drawn, and didn't shy from doing it. I'm honored to know him, and I know many friends who would say the same.

So for 1SG, I give another Hooah!

509th was my first salute after commissioning 7+ years ago. Great example of an NCO. Enjoy the retirement, top!

Absolutely one of the best.

Just for the record he did not retire. He changed career tracks and is now working in the oil and gas field around the Houston area. I bet it was a nice pay raise to say the least!

Thanks all. Imnew is right, I did not "retire". I have moved on to the oil refining industry. I will miss A & M and the daily interactions with the cadets and my former colleagues. Carry on...
