To all,
Does anyone have a Program of Instruction for .22 caliber competition shooting? Here is why I ask:
I am the Senior Military Instructor for Norwich University, a Senior Military College in Northfield, Vermont. The university used to have a well known and respected Olympic shooting program. For reasons I wont get into, they shut down the program. I, along with the Marine department, are trying to get the program back up and running, but it has been gone for about 10 years I think, so there is no longer any institution knowledge here any more.
We have tracked down the group who has the competition rifles and pistols that did belong to the university, and we have established a good working relationship with them, and will be allowed to use their indoor range for training, and free use of the weapons. Ammo is another issue, but I am working with my brigade for Class V for the range sessions.
What I really need is a Program of Instruction for competition. A "Day 1 Module 1" type would be ideal, if one even exists. Using the Army's basic rifle marksmanship program will work only to a point, and then I would need a program geared toward the Anschutz rifle and pistol.
I am in contact with coaches who currently train the National Championship team from up here and the USA biathalon shooting instructor, but I can't rely on them solely for instruction. I have looked at the CMP and USAS websites, but they don't seem to have any online training modules. Any help with a by day or by training session program would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
